How do you know it's time for Ph.D.?
So after B. Tech or other graduation you are going to join some institute for higher studies or some company for job. Some institute lets you pursue Ph.D. or research right after graduation. Sometimes people are confused about this decision to make or not. Since research has not been young's work until they had special interests in research and inventions. So, is it worthy for a just graduate student to attend research or Ph.D. program? Let's know few facts about it.

So many universities are offering higher education after graduation. Some of the institute offer research fellowship and some of them provide opportunity to stand up for a Ph.D. program. Ph.D. in India is not a big deal now. You attend some deemed university, mix two three books content in your language and prepare a thesis and here is your Ph.D. in your hand after few years. Yes! It takes time but you'll surely make it. They all do. If you join a Ph.D. program sooner than later you'll get a DR. before your name, about which you can boast in front of some low level state universities, your family and relatives and neighbor. Believe me! Other than this, there is no value of that prefix in outer world. They all are too intelligent to be fooled by a fake prefix that can easily be purchased.

What happens there: the thing is, if you don't know what you want to do your Ph.D., it's all worthless. You'll do what your Instructor or supervisor wants you to do. You'll get whatever your supervisor wants you to get. You'll be like a baseless pot.

So what's the real thing? Look, the real motive to pursue Ph.D. is to find some theory or proceed few steps in order to improve already made theories. This is how this program should be considered. Nowadays it's just about writing a thesis about something that is nothing but some text written in a book. In India the scenario is exactly like that.

Haven't got your answer? May be it's a little less descriptive but it's logical. Few questions have simple explanations and answers. To answer the question asking about the reason to pursue a Ph.D. program the thing is:"you should go for Ph.D. to look for an answer and you should look for an answer only when you know the question." So you should simply choose a Ph.D. program if you are really interested in science and inventing things along with something that makes you think that you can contribute in finding something that is important, or else you can choose this option if you are geek and nerd and you just want to spend your time with learning and experiencing your domain in broad way and possibly you might want to become a professor or something. Other that this if you have some unanswered question that deserves an answer and you want to look for an answer under supervision of experts of the same domain, you can go for Ph.D.

All these reasons seems quite convincing enough to make you think about your next step of career. I hope this helps you.
