About CSIR NET (JRF - LS) June 2013
Technical education and higher studies are getting fire in our country. Students acquire jobs after graduation usually or else they go for higher studies. In higher education and career after PG we have always this curiosity about jobs and govt. employment etc. NET is an exam that provides opportunity to PG students for lectureship and Research. Main motive of exam is to improvise importance of higher education in this country. CSIR NET is exam conducted under two main motives:

1.    for the post of ‘Junior Research Fellow’
2.    for ‘Lectureship’

This year 1st exam of CSIR NET is going to be conducted on 23rd of June, 2013. Exam is conducted twice in a year: one in month of June and after this next exam in December almost same dates. People preparing for this exam solely don’t need to wait for a long year for taking 2nd chance like in GATE. Taking one more chance is not a big decision to make since you don’t have to wait for the whole year now. But it’s unlike GATE and better scheme. Since this exam is not regarding higher professional studies so this could be conducted biyearly and GATE isn’t. This opportunity has been started in December 2012 for engineering science discipline so the paper and pattern and type of difficulties are not easy to predict or guess.

Paper Pattern: Examination paper pattern is simple but not light. You have to attend 3 sections of a paper to be taken either in morning session or in afternoon session. No sectional cutoff marks but competition is rather tough. In engineering science question booklet is printed in English only and they don’t let you take question paper with you out of exam hall.

1.    Section A: Common to all engineering disciplines (easy) perception test.
2.    Section B: (difficult) Engineering Math, Applied Math.
3.    Section C: (subject knowledge) 70 questions. 10 q. per branch and 20 can be attempted.

Section B is the main concentration of paper. Section A is easy and Section C is also easy if you have little knowledge of your subject and little general knowledge of other subjects also. 1-2 q. per branch can be attended. If someone has a good command on Mathematics and has good background in Math, this paper is no match in any difficulty for you guys. For math guy paper is easy, simple and easily crack able.

After Exam: Exam as already told, is about JRF or LS. You have to fill your choices while filling forms whether you are applying for JRF or LS and only one choice can be selected. One can’t apply for JRF and LS together in same time. With JRF you are posted in a job that allows you to pursue Ph.D. right after B. Tech Graduation. If you’ve chosen LS option then you’ll be posted for the lectureship in any govt. body. Pay scale will be approx. 18KPM.
This exam is golden opportunity and wish you all the best for exams!!!
